Most dental problems start quietly. A routine examination lets us spot early decay, gum disease and wear long before they hurt, when treatment is quicker, cheaper and more comfortable.
Your dentist checks your teeth, gums, soft tissues and bite, takes X-rays when they're needed, and talks you through anything they find. Hygiene visits then clean away the hardened plaque that brushing at home can't shift.
How often should I come in?
There's no single answer. Some patients are best seen every few months, others once a year or less. Your dentist will recommend an interval based on your gum health, your history of decay and your lifestyle, and review it at each visit.
Gum disease
Bleeding when you brush is the most common early sign. Caught early, gum inflammation usually settles with a professional clean and better home care. More advanced gum disease needs deeper cleaning below the gum line, which we provide over one or more sessions.
