Porcelain veneers are thin, custom-made shells of porcelain bonded to the front of your teeth. They can improve the colour and shape of teeth, hide spaces, and completely restore a smile that's broken down or worn.
Done properly, veneers need very little alteration to your natural teeth, and sometimes none at all. Porcelain is long-lasting and resists staining, so your new smile keeps its colour.
Do my teeth need to be drilled down?
Many people worry their teeth will be drilled down to small stumps. That's a myth: when veneers are done properly, the amount of tooth reduction is very small, and sometimes there's none at all. How much is needed depends on the starting shade, the position and condition of your teeth, and your bite.
Choosing your colour
For every cosmetic case we involve our ceramist, so the colour is discussed in detail before we begin. Whitening your natural teeth first lets you reach a shade you're happy with before we match the porcelain to it.
If we're making over both the upper and lower teeth, a different shade can be chosen altogether. This is where the brightest whites can be achieved for a completely new look.
